I'm a newcomer to Jodi and Kim's blog Art By Wiley, but every time I read it I walk away from the computer (when I do eventually walk away from the computer) very very inspired.
Jodi and husband Kim originally started the blog to showcase their artwork. These days, Jodi uses the blog as part of her challenge to write a post every weekday for the year - and if I may say so - she's doing an awesome job. I love checking out her illustrations and photographs and generally just having a good old sticky-beak at what is inspiring her. Kim does make the occasional cameo appearance, so it's worth keeping an eye out for that too!
Here's what Jodi had to say in response to my Fast Five questions...
I was lucky enough recently to purchase an original artwork by picture book illustrator Anna Walker (*squeal!*). I pretty much just stare at it all day long now.
Which blog do you NEVER skip reading (no matter how busy, crook, cranky you are)?
Oh, that’s hard! I read so many. But if I had to pick one, it’s Pikaland. I love being introduced to new artists and illustrators.
Where is your favourite place to get coffee and/or eggs + bacon and/or pancakes?
Brekkie out is a rare indulgence these days with a toddler and an 8-month-old baby in tow. So while the place has to have great coffee the other criteria is now a courtyard sandpit or a decent range of toys available!
I’m very boring in the font department. I only ever use Times New Roman for printed stuff and a good solid sans serif (Arial or maybe Helvetica) for the web. I wonder what that says about me...
What is your favourite city to travel to?
I’d go back to NYC in a heartbeat (one day...). But closer to home, a flying visit to Sydney will cure me of my wanderlust for a while. Other than that I think it’s fun sometimes to play tourist in my own town - Melbourne.
Thanks so much for participating, Jodi - it has been a real treat to get even more of a glimpse into your creative, beautiful world! :)
