Anna is an interior designer extraordinaire based in North Queensland and her blog is the home of everything that inspires her. Whenever you want to see lots of lovely design inspiration - My Design Ethos is the place to visit.
In fact, not only is Anna a dab hand with design, she's also very talented at my Fast Five! Want proof? Look no further...
This is such a tricky question because I have a lot of art and I love it all! My mother is an artist and runs a local gallery so she often gives me small pieces or prints that she knows I like. I also love to travel and my favourite souvenir is art (easy and light to carry home!). Here a few of my favourite pieces at the moment…
These are some prints of vintage posters I picked up in Paris. I bought a set of eight because I couldn't choose my favourites!
But this is probably my favourite piece and also the one that gets the most comments. It is a poster I bought at a local fashion festival and glued onto a large canvas. Affordable and striking!
2) Which blog do you NEVER skip reading (no matter how busy, crook, cranky you are)?
I have an enormous blog list that I check regularly but I have admit the one I read ‘rain, hail or shine’ is Little Green Notebook by Jenny Komenda. I really adore Jenny’s style and love checking in to see her fantastic DIY inspiration.
3)Where is your favourite place to get coffee and/or eggs + bacon and/or pancakes?
My favourite local café in Townsville is far and away Millie J & Co. Not only do they have great tea (I’m not a coffee drinker) and gelato, they serve my favourite breakfast in the city; poached eggs and smoked salmon served on sourdough with basil pesto and balsamic glaze. I feel hungry just thinking about it!
Another reason to love Millie J? It’s gorgeous interior decoration. I love the vintage café feel and serene colour palette. Perfect for relaxing after a busy day!
4)What is your favourite font?
I go through stages of love with different fonts. At the moment it has to be my font for my new logo called Windsong. It is a beautiful flowing script which doesn’t feel too stuffy or formal. You can download it for free at Dafont.com.
5) What is your favourite city to travel to?
Oh, this is too hard when there are so many beautiful places in the world! I have to admit I love Marrakesh, Morocco though. You will never travel to a more exciting and exotic city. Walking through the old city is an incredible adventure and a feast for the senses with beautiful old buildings, winding alleyways and tiny shops stuffed to the ceiling with beautiful things. You can wander around for hours and there will always be something new and exciting to look at around the next corner.See, that’s me in the middle looking back toward the camera!
Thanks so much Anna, for participating in my Fast Five, it has been great getting an insight into some of your inspiration!
