A NICE PLACE TO EAT ... SHADY GROVE, PENGUIN

If you haven't been to Shady Grove Cafe yet, I reckon you need to get yourself to Penguin quick smart and have one of their great wood-fired pizzas. You can sit yourself on the verandah, bring your own bottle of wine and enjoy a spring afternoon with family and friends.

The service is friendly and relaxed, but efficient. And those pizzas are something else. I love the thin crust and the use of lovely fresh produce. Not to mention the wonderful smell of it cooking on the wood-fired oven.

You can also hear some fabulously retro tunes as you dine - one of my all-time, old-time favourites was playing when we visited.

I'm really looking forward to spending some more time on that verandah as the days get longer and warmer, with such a great atmosphere, I can see myself hanging out there a lot more often as summer rolls around.
