two great give-aways

Winners are grinners. Image source.

While I haven't personally got a give-away of my own for you, I have read of two great ones lately in internet-land.

The first is from the fantabulous Sandra at Grace of Autumn. She's offering the chance to win a custom made frock, click on over here to check it out. You can also check out her Facebook page here. Like and share her Facebook page to be in the running.

The second one is from the amazing Sophie at Her Library Adventures. She has a package of lovely thrifted goodies to give away. Click here to comment on her post and be in with a chance to win. Follow her on Facebook here, Twitter here, and Bloglovin' here to grab extra entry points.

So go on - you've got to be in it to win it!

Happy Days
When I went to Sydney there was: sushi and sashimi, octopus and paella, olives, cheese and bread, pizza, wine and beer and a whole lot of great coffee.

There was pouring rain and there were sunshiny skies.

There was the Opera House, the Bridge and ferries, there was Circular Quay and the Rocks Markets.

There were also two fire alarms at the hotel. The first one at about 9.30 in the evening was a bit exciting, even though it was pouring with rain. The second one at 6am was definitely less exciting. Don't worry, there was no fire, just the alarms.

Then there were goodbyes and flights home and catching up on sleep for the rest of the week.

And it was all very definitely worth it.

market like a mod

Lorise and Lisa

I made another video of some of my shots from yesterday's market. Have a gander below.

P.S. I'm having a break from work next week for a couple of days. I've managed to get some leave and I'm going to Sydney. I leave after work (literally straight after) on Wednesday and I'll be back Sunday evening bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and oh-so-eager to educmacate some teenagers again.

I'm very much looking forward to it. Be prepared to have the absolute crap Instagrammed out of you while I'm away.

Speaking of, you can follow me on Instagram if you like, you'll find me lurking around there as 'nomesthenome'.

When I get back I'll do some posts on my adventures. At the very least I'm hoping for sunny skies, sushi and champagne. I'm a girl with simple tastes, you see. Wish me luck!

The camera loves you, baby.

The lovely Michelle made a fabulous 60s Mod model at yesterday's Made With Love Market Bazaar

As did Lisa ...

There were lots of lovely things to see, eat, buy and photograph:

Bright blooms, ready for Daffodil Day.
Cupcakes were popular.
Ready to revive you after all that shopping.

There are so many more photos - feel free to check them out here if you get the chance!

make like a mod

Mod-spiration. Image source.
Hey local people (and non-local people who may just happen to be in the local area at the time), it's getting closer and closer to market time again! After a mid-winter break, the lovely crafty Made With Love ladies are back and planning a brilliant market for August.

It's happening on Saturday the 13th from 9am-1pm at 45 Jackson Street, Wynyard, Tasmania in the ArtsCape building.

Plus, it's a rocking theme this time around. The stallholders will be kitted out in their best 60s Mod gear. I'm betting there will be big hair, big eyelashes and big go-go boots.

I'm even predicting there may be the start of a trend towards market-goers joining in on the dressing up fun with the stallholders - we had one last time, I wonder if there will be more this time around? Garn, be brave, give Wynyard something to talk about until next month's market - the town could do with a little livening up, don't you think?

Scoot to it, mods. Image source.

foggy mornings

In a fog on the way to school

There has been a lot of fog around lately - and I'm not just talking about the weather. I'm in the middle of a fog of marking and reports at the moment and it feels like it will never clear.

Of course, I'm being melodramatic. It will clear. I'll just keep plugging away at it and the fog will lift.

Foggy morning
